Banned books...day 7

"I solomly swear that I am up to no good." Which I'm obviously not since I have read all six books at least 5 times each. All six of them are on the banned book list. Thats crazy. I love all the Harry books, I reread all of them right before a new one comes out. Who doesn't love Hogwarts? I can't wait until Tanner can read these books. Because I know he will enjoy all of them. J.K. Rowlings is a genius. How many writers can keep the world cheering for more six books later? With the same characters and places. Not too many. These are by far my favorite books. I get my copies early. When the Half Blood Prince came out I was at Wal-Mart at 530am to get my copy. Books like this should be treasured not banned. I hope they are around long enough for my children to read them. They are already classics. I hope they get the chance to stay that way. Well there you have it. A weeks worth of banned books. I really enjoyed doing this. I hope you have enjoyed reading about the books. Reading is a big part of my life. Banning books is pointless. And useless, because in the end, if someone really wants to read one of the books they will find a way to do so. And I hope they do. We should encourage reading, not provoke some kind of sick fear into our children. Its our job to teach them what's good and bad. To help them make choices. So I hope these books are around for them to make those kind of choices...

Halloween

So Halloween is coming and thankfully I got Tanner's costume last year. A $30 costume for ten bucks. I cant find one like it on net to post a picture anywhere. Which is strange since we got it at Target. But its kind of like the one he wore last year.......meaning its a suit wth a hood. Like this one. The spiderman eyes are on the hood so it doesnt get in his face. Its adorable. But now I'm wondering if I should paint his face. Is he too young for that? I cant find a spiderman mask that doesnt cost an arm and a leg. Plus I dont think he will keep it on. And since I'm taking him trick or treating this year I am going to try and dress up too. But the only thing I can think to go with Spiderman is Mary Jane. I dont think too many people would get it if I wore a red wig...I dont know. Just something I'm thinking about. I mean its only 32 days away. It sucks that Scott doesnt get to go. This will be the second Halloween he's missed. He didnt even get to see Tanner in his costume last year. Maybe this year. Who knows.

A little ticked off

I know I have ranted about these teenaged brats that walk through my yard, but I swear I'm going to loose it and cuss them out. I have been out there twice today telling them to stay out of my yard. I really dont mind little kids, (under 8) walking through are yard seeing we live on a busy street. But the older kids they know better. I'm like this if you're old enough to ride a bike on a busy road then your old enough to walk on the side. It may sound mean. It just makes me wonder what kind of parents they have. I mean were they taught not to respect others? Honestly do I have to tell you every damn day for you to hear me? Personally I think the only then that is going to make them listen is me calling the sheriffs dept. Which I might do when I go look at the side of my house. It sounded like someone was throwing things at it. Scott and I cleaned the siding 2 weeks ago, I swear to you if they've egged it or thrown something that made a mess I swear they are going to see a grown woman throw a hissy fit. The neighbors really dont want me calling the cops seeing that they've had DFAX and the marshalls dept out there this week. I hate to be like that. I hate sounding like some mean bitch, but that is one thing that irks me, disrespectful kids. I know it starts at home, but these kids are old enough to make the choice to behave....AGGGHHH!!!

Day 6...banned books.

Now I am just laughing. This book is about a bully and a bet. So why is it on a banned book list? Do they think reading it will make a kid want to eat worms? Hello!! All they have to do is watch Fear Factor to see that. My favorite thing about this book is the creative ways they come up with to eat worms. Its been awhile, but I remember whip cream and ketchup. I thought it was even funnier that toward the end of the book the parents were cheering him on and helping him come up with to eat the 15 worms. Its just good fun to read. It makes you laugh, but of course if you have a week stomach it could make you gag too. LOL. Shoot they just made a movie out of this book. (took them long enough). I dont understand the people who make these banned list. I mean most of the books are movies now, and not only that, How to Eat Fried Worms is a funny kids book. How come true crime stories aren't banned? (Dont get me wrong I love them, they are my favorite genere) I'm just trying to make point. True crime books are often greusome and detailed and have pictures of crime scenes. But not one is on the banned book list. It just dosen't make much sence to me. Okay that's my 2 cents for the day!!

Look at what they did

Talk about Guerilla Marketing !! Did any of you see the Today show? The PayPerPost staff was there in all their glory. Flying banners and wearing tshirts, showing much love and getting the word out there, that PayPerPost is awesome. Click on the link above and check out their day leading up to the Today Show. Its quite entertaining. And very cool. I think its a great way to spread the word about payperpost. Letting people know that there is a way to make money doing something you enjoy. How cool is that.

Banned Books...Day Five

I decided to do two today since I have some extra time. The first is a classic. There is nothing else to say about it. It has been around since the 60's and its still read in schools today. I love this book. I still have the copy I was given in high school. Lessons learned still hold true today. I dont have the words to describe how truly wonderful this book so I chose to post a review from someone else.....Publishers Weekly "Lee's beloved American classics makes its belated debut on audio (after briefly being available in the 1990s for the blind and libraries through Books on Tape) with the kind of classy packaging that may spoil listeners for all other audiobooks. The two CD slipcases housing the 11 discs not only feature art mirroring Mary Schuck's cover design but also offers helpful track listings for each disk. Many viewers of the 1962 movie adaptation believe that Lee was the film's narrator, but it was actually an unbilled Kim Stanley who read a mere six passages and left an indelible impression. Competing with Stanley's memory, Spacek forges her own path to a victorious reading. Spacek reads with a slight Southern lilt and quiet authority. Told entirely from the perspective of young Scout Finch, there's no need for Spacek to create individual voices for various characters but she still invests them all with emotion. Lee's Pulitzer Prize-winning 1960 novel, which quietly stands as one of the most powerful statements of the Civil Rights movement, has been superbly brought to audio." Available as a Perennial paperback. (Aug.) Copyright 2006 Reed Business Information. So this book is just awesome. Heartwrenching just doesn't describe it. Its been years since I've read it but I still remember details. How it broke my heart when Leslie died. And how my heart hurt for Jess. This is just a wonderful book and why its on a banned book list is beyond me.......Publishers Weekly "Paterson's Newbery-winning novel becomes an entertaining and dramatic audiobook via Leonard's accomplished reading. Jess Aarons is eager to start fifth grade. He's been practicing his sprints all summer, determined to become the fastest runner at school. All seems to be on track, until the new girl in class (who also happens to be Jess's new next-door neighbor), Leslie Burke, leaves all the boys in the dust, including Jess. After this rather frustrating introduction, Jess and Leslie soon become inseparable. Together, they create an imaginary, secret kingdom in the woods called Terabithia that can be reached only by swinging across a creek bed on a rope. But one morning a tragic accident befalls Leslie as she ventures alone to Terabithia, and Jess's life is changed forever. Leonard deftly interprets the strands of humor, realism and heart-wrenching emotion woven into Paterson's fine tale. His careful and authentic handling of Jess's anger and grief in the aftermath of the accident is sure to touch listeners. Contemporary instrumental interludes featuring guitar, piano and drums signal the beginning and end of each tape side." Ages 9-up. (Jan.) Copyright 2001 Cahners Business Information

Whew!!!

So exams are over. Yippiee!! I think I did okay. I was suprised at how fast I knew the answers. I guess I retained more than I thought I had. So I'm out of school for the next few days. Which is great. Monday I have to be at school at 730. Yuck!! But thats when they give out our new schedules and books. My next semester will be a bit harder. I will have 4 classes, one of them is 2 hours long. SO...it should be interesting. Other than that nothing is going on. Toot is watching tv and Scott is at work. I seriously need to catch up on my tivo. It was over 60% full this morning. Not all of its mine, but most of it is. Well I am off to relax for a bit. Maybe read some more of my book. I am reading the Memory Keeper's Daughter and The Black Dahlia. Both really good. Now that I have a break maybe I can finish them this weekend.

Just a quickie

Just posting really quick before I hit the books. Tanner is at my in laws, and the house is so quite. Its kind of nerve wracking to have no noise but the tv. I'm so use to "mommy" all the time and I already miss it. And to top it all off I wont hear it for the next 4 hours. Yes I know I'm gone from him while I'm in school, but that's usually the only time. I dont send him somewhere when I'm still home. Sighs. So exams are tomorrow. I get out of school at 115, and I dont have to go back until Monday, and sometime next week I will find out if I made the Deans List or not. Well I am off to put some food in a belly and sit down for some studying . So I probably wont be back tonight. Until tomorrow everyone.

Day 4 banned book...

"I must, I must, I must increase my bust!" who doesn't remember this line from this awesome book. I laughed until I almost peed my pants, reading about doing excersies that will make your boobs bigger. I loved reading this book in the 6th grade. I loved knowing that there were other girls out there worrying about their boob size, and when they were going to start their period for the first time. Kissing boys, and talking to your girlfriends, all part of growing up. Judy Bloom just wrote a wonderful book about it. One that reminds us of that ackward time in our lives. Right before we become women, right there when we are still little girls, but feel like we are young ladies. I read this book alot during middle school, it answers questions you're too embarassed to ask your parents, or you find it so funny that asking your parents doesn't seem so bad compared to what happens in the book. Margaret is a wonderul character that everyone should take the time to get to know...

A promised picture and some other crap

Okay so I promised a picture of my new, cool glasses. So here they are. Please only pay attention to the glasses as my skin looks awful. Lets see what else is going, I know its begining to sound repetative, but I got another A on an English test. Just 2 more test to go this quarter. The 2 most important. Finals are on Wed. I just called my mother in law to see if Toot could go to her house for a few hours tomorrow so I can study. I know he doesnt understand, but I need some time to read. Whenever I have a book he wants me to read with him, or let him color in it. SO he will be gone from 4-8 so I can do some last minute studying. I know in the past few days there has been a repeat with some of my payperpost, post, but apparently I can't read insturctions. After 3 of my post were regected, I had to post them all again, with a normal post in between. I missed the part where they cant be back to to back. So for all of you who frequent here I am sorry. Just skip those post and read the new ones. I think I'm back on track now. Hopefully it won't happen again. Scott had to go back to work today. Its been nice having him home for a week. But I think he missed going to work though. Other than there isnt much to talk about. Toot is taking a nap so I'm going to clean up a little and sit down and study.
Its the little things I will miss with Scott going back to work. I love seeing him and Tanner play together, they have their own little games, it great to watch!!

Banned books day 3

My jaw literally hit the floor when I saw this on the banned books. OMG!! Roald Dahl is an awesome writer. And this book is hilarious!! If memory serves me right my 3rd or 4th grade teacher read this to us in class. I've read it many times since. And I will make sure Tanner has a copy of this. There is nothing scary in it, the meanest things the witches do is turn a little boy into a mouse. Granted there is some magic, but its all in fun. This book is comical and fun. I cant wait to read it to Tanner. I was going to post some reviews from people who have read this book, but I couldn't decide what ones to post. There are so many positive ones. So go to Barnes and Nobles.com and check out the reviews. And then pick up this book and read it, adults and children will both love it. Promise.

Have you ever

Have you ever wonder where the money comes from when we post ads on blogs? Or for that matter where does the money go? I have a theory. Its the government trying a differant tactic to get money from us. Especially those of us who are blog addicts. I mean think about all the money we bring in to all these web sites. And the money goes to who? Hmmm, I'm thinking Mr. Bush wants to make sure he has a back up plan for retirement. What better way to do it? Its the perfect plan. He doesn't have to force us to do anything. We volunteered to this...ha!

Feeling like a teenager....

And not it a good way. Every since I went back to college my poor face has been breaking out and just looking bad. Well while searching the net like I often do, I came across this "6 Weeks to Sensational Skin: Dr. Loretta's Beauty Camp Handbook for your Freshest Face" and I think I'm going to pick it up. I mean what can it hurt. Anything to help me have nice skin will be wonderful. Plus she will tell you what to buy in terms of make up. Which is a plus for me since I wear it every day. Its like giving your self mini make over at home. Who doesn't need one of those once in awhile?

Banned books...day 2

So I have quite possibly read this book 100 times. I have a copy of it somewhere. Now this book is for a more mature crowd, I think I read it for the first time in high school. Its a real diary of a teenage drug user. It shows how easy it was to become hooked after one try. How she goes from using weed, to the really hard stuff. Running away from home, and coming back and trying to get clean. Its a great book. It will make you sad, and mad. I read it in less than a day. Check out a full summary on the book here.

21 months old

My little boy turned 21 months old 2 days ago and I forgot to post about it. Bad mommy!! I took this picture yesterday and it just shows how big he is getting. He looks like a little man. He is doing so many new things. His favorite is coloring. He is VERY passionate about coloring. When I say Tanner time to clean up, he gets very upset and cries. I must say he does a good job. But we're going through coloring books like crazy. He is very active, always wanting to play "Where's Tanner" (he hides under a blanket until we cry out Where's Tanner) he runs around the house with the blanket over his head...I cant wait until he's old enough to play hide and seek. He's also become very independant. He will go in his room and play for an hour at a time all by himself. He loves to wrestle with daddy and cuddle with mommy. He loves for me to read. Now only if he could work on talking...I know he can, but he just stubborn. Like his mommy.

Last post for the day

So I haven't really posted about Toot today. Consider how hot it is he's been really good. He was a bit clingy and its hard to tell him it will be cooler if you get down. Scott had to fly to Atlanta today. He got back around 830. We decided to turn the air on long enough to cool the house down and turn it back off when we go to bed. It took it a few hours to freeze up last night so we'll turn it off before then. I've havent posted about school. Sorry. Its going good. Finals are next Wed. I'm kinda nervouse, but not really. I cant believe the first quarter is already up. Time has really flown by. So far I've made A's on all my test. So as long as I get an A on my final I will make the Deans List. Which is awesome. It will make me work harder to stay on it for the rest of the year. Well I'm off, Tanner and Scott are asleep on the couch. Tomorrow we are going to walk around the flea market. We havent been there in a very long time. Its a nice way so spend Saturday. Sunday I plan on locking myself up in the bedroom to study for a few hours so I dont have to cram on Tues. Okay. I'm off. Have a good weekend everyone.

Banned Books...day one, book 1

Okay so tomorrow offically starts the I read banned books week, but as I will be super busy tomorrow I am posting this now. I Love to read and I have read just about if not more than half of the books on the 100 list (Mir I linked to your list. I hope thats okay) . So it was hard for me to pick just 7. Even harder for me to pick which one to lead off with. So I think I am starting with one of the ones that really shocked me. Shel Silverstein's A Light in the Attic. Wow. I mean this is a book of kids poems. For the life of me I could not guess why this made the list. I can't remember the name of a lot of the poems but I know the one about selling your little sister is in there, and so is the one about picking your nose....come on, how can something so silly be offensive enough to be banned? I wish I could find a page that tells why each book is on the list. I am interested to know. I love Shel Silverstein. I hope to have all his books so Tanner can laugh at the off the wall poems and funny pictures. I want him to be able to laugh and when he's older he can tell his little brother or sister about it. So I found one poem in the book and thought I would post it so those of you who have not read the book can get and idea of the silliness of the poems.
Rockabye Rockabye baby, in the treetop Don't you know a treetop Is no safe place to rock? And who put you up there, And your cradle, too? Baby, I think someone down here's Got it in for you. So there you go. In one of the great reviews I read, someone said this book is "The light that never goes out" and I hope that it never does.

Somebody help!!!

Its so HOT!!!!! I feel like I'm melting. Granted the temp has dropped but not enough for us to turn off the air. For some reason our air conditioner started to literall freeze so we had to turn it off. We turned it back on to see if it would freeze up again and sure enough...ahhhh. I've got windows open and fans going, but its still TOO hot. It may be fall, but good ol' Georgia hasnt cooled down enough.

Its Picture day!!! Its Picture day!!!

So as you can see we took out little man to get his pictures made. We haven't done it since Easter, so we figured it was about time. And of course our little one was a handful. He was happy and smiled but damn, he didn't want to sit still. He gave the lady a run for her money. These are the 6 proofs we got. We got a few other ones but I wanted the proofs of the ones I didn't buy. The one on the top left is my favorite. This picture says Tanner!! It just shows his funny personality. He IS such a silly little boy. While she was taking pictures I realized how grown up he's getting. It makes me sad. His 2nd birthday is just around the corner. I've already started planning the party. Its been a busy few days. I got all my hair cut off. I'm not quite sure if I like it or not. I told the lady one thing, and oh boy she did another. I almost cried when I realized how much she took off. I also broke down and got new glasses. Which I LOVE!! I also got contacts again. I haven't worn them yet, but I will. I use to wear them all the damn time, but when Tanner was born I just got tired of cleaning them and taking them out. I will take a pic of my new, cool specs and show them too ya'll. I guess I should update you guys on my blog. I know you see I've got some off the wall posts, but I am trying out the payperpost, to see if I can make any money. Right now I'm only up to 25$ If I can save up I might be doing my Christmas shopping online. Next week is banned book week and for the whole week I am going to post a banned book. So just a little bit about that. Ummm....what else? For those of you who watch Regis and Kelly, my dad was the one they called today to ask the question about yesterdays shows. How funny is that? Even though he got the question wrong (its okay dad. We'll keep blaming it on mom) he still got an awesome prize for playing. But still how cool is that? To actually be on tv, even if it was just his voice!! Well that's it, I'm off to watch the CSI premiere. Until later, I bid you adieu.

I'm having a nightmare about Christmas...

Well about Tim Burton's A Nightmare Before Christmas. Have ya'll seen it? Its a wonderful movie. Jack and Sally are two of my all time favorite characters. So imagine my suprise when I saw Tim Burton's Nightmare Before Christmas Halloween Decorations they're wonderful. I actually own some stuff from the movie, but not like this. I'm thinking of asking Scott to buy me some. I mean check it out this stuff is awesome. It has all the characters and its very detailed. I so want the train for our room. I know A Nightmare Before Christmas has its own following and some people may think its weird. But hey, I like being weird. And if you don't like it for yourself, Christmas is coming up and you could always by it for me. What ya think?

So its been a few days....

I know, I know. I haven't posted in like 3 days. I am sorry. Its been a busy few days. SO we went to NC Friday. Got to spend some time with my family. Loved it. I always hate leaving. Its hard every time. Tanner had a blast. Nani and Papa spoiled him with stuff from Disney World. We got home Sunday night, my parents gave us some nice furniture. SO we finally have matching furniture. Its wonderful. Scott is on vacation, and I of course went back to school. I got another A on a test. Which I was really suprised about. I had honestly thought I bombed it. Good thing I dont listen to myself too much. Lets see what else is going on. I signed up for PayPerPost. So you will see a lot more blogging for awhile. Just to see if I can actually earn some money doing it. I'm going to try and pick interesting sites so everyone will want to go and check them out. We've really been busy, but there isn't too much to report. So just check out the pics. I have tons to post. I just havent had time to upload all of them yet. The one on the left is off Toot playing with a spray bottle. He sprayed himself and everyone else. And the one on the right is of Tanner and my sister. She claims she doesn't miss him, but as I'm sure you can see from the picture, she's lying. Any who. I'm off for now. We still have a busy week ahead. I have school of course. We're taking Toot to get his pictures made on Thurs. Then I'm going to get my hair cut one day. Scott has to go to Atlanta on Friday for training for his new position. So we will be on the go. But I wont keep ya'll hanging this time. I promise I will find time to post even if I have to do it at school on my hour break. SO until later.

Unbelivable

So I was browsing my daily reads today and I came across two things that threw me for a loop. The first was at Mir's blog about a kid beauty pagent. (I got this pic from her site). Doesn't this look like a baby doll. I had do like triple take. This is a 2 year old. 2 YEARS OLD!!! Oh my god. What are they doing to these little girls? If you go to Mir's site she has the link to the article. This is just craziness...I want to know what 2 year old has hair like that. Why put you child through all of that? I mean you can't tell me that they actually enjoy doing this at 2. (Sighs) I just don't understand. Right now I am glad I dont have a little girl. Because the minute she was old enough and wanted to do this kind of thing I would freak the hell out. I'm freaked out now, and its not even my kid. Go figure.
And the next thing I saw was on Zoot's site. Book banning? Come on, do they still do that for real? I guess so. I looked at the 100 most challenged books, and my jaw hit the floor. I've read half of them. I own half of them. Of course all the Harry Potter books are on there. But Judy Blume? How to Eat Fried Worms? To Kill a Mocking Bird? these are classics. Man if dont want your kids to read them, then dont let them, but dont ruin it for all the other kids. Tanner is only 1 and I want to go out and buy them all so just in case they are banned he can read them when he's older. It seems to be that we should be encouraging our kids to read not telling no don't read that, or that, or that. Reading is good for the soul. Everyone should be able to enjoy it. So go check out Zoots blog and read about the "I read banned books" week. I dont know about you, but I plan on jumping on the band wagon.
On a lighter note. We're in NC. My folks are still in Fl. and they will be home tomorrow evening. So we will be swimming and relaxing all day. Its nice not to have anything to do. Tanner's had a rough day. My parents Tanner proofed the house before they left, except for the gate in front of the fire place, and of course he pulled it on top of him. That sucker is heavy. He's got to bruises on his poor face. He slammed his finger in the laudry room door and took a nose dive onto the side of the couch hitting his cheek. He has been a real klutz today. He's fine. Just clumsy.

Wet Willie Wednsday

I was going to post a worldess Wed. picture, but I'm a little pist off so I'm venting. I am so sick and tired of those punks walking across my front yard. Yelling doesn't work, I can sit there and stare at them and they still do it, even though we've asked. Threatening to call the sheriffs dept doesn't work, so I guess the next step will be actually calling. I dont want to bug the police with this, but nothing is working and its an everyday thing. I mean EVERYDAY!! I dont even worry about the kids under 10, I'm talking grown folks. Kids who know better. Its nerve wracking. I think that's what pisses me off the most, they're old enough to know better. I mean even their parents do it. What kind of example does that show your kids? Disrespecting someone elses property? AHHHHH!!!!
I'm a little irritated because of school too. We have some people who act childish. They always have to be loud and it literally takes the teacher 1o mins to get them to be quiet. Come on. We are adults. I dont know about them, but I'm paying for my education and I want to learn all I can. So no one has to tell me to be quiet, the teacher walks in, and all talking should stop. But does it NO. Okay, okay. Enough complaining. Its raining out, the day is gloomy, and I'm just irritated. But hey that what my blog is for right? Right. Oh yeah!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM!!!

Wet willies and more....

So I taught Tanner how to give a wet willy, but I'm thinking it back fired on me. Because now he only gives them to me. How is that fun? The whole point was to get his daddy back. Well damn. Toot suprised me today...not really suprised, but I guess he proved me right. We were in the kitchen (which is decorated in cows) and he walked up to a dish towel and pointed to the cow and said it "Cow". Then he proceded to point out every cow in my kitchen....cow, cow, cow. He even recognizes the sound a cow makes. Which is wonderful. So I guess what we've been teaching him is sticking, he's just choosing to not to say it. Go figure. I had my oral presentation at school today. It went okay. I felt like I was going to puke the minute I walked into class and apologized to the class in case I turned 10 differant shades of red. Which they said I didnt do. LOL. It felt like it though. My cheeks stayed hot for almost an hour. Maybe one day when I dont have anything to post, I'll put my paper up here and let ya'll read it. Well my cow child is being extremely clingy, so its probably time for bed. Until next time.

A whole bunch of nothing

I feel as though I should write something meaningful because of what to day is, but I can't. My thoughts are always with the troops and families who were and are affected by that awful day. BUT it has been all over the tv today and it has become a very depressing subject. (as well it should be). As for now, I will say my prayers for those who need them like I always in the privacy of my home. Not too much is going on today. I got another A on my test. I have to do an oral report tomorrow, which I'm nervouse about. I also have to finish my poster that is suppose to accompany it. My child is rotten. He has learned a new little jig and if I can ever catch it on camera I will post it. He has also become quite the funny man these past few days. Thanks to his father. While I am asking Tanner where is mommy's nose he procedes to show me by sticking his finger in my nose. (Yes my husband has taught him to pick someone elses nose..EWWW). Which leads me to believe he also taught him his newest trick. He holds my face in his hands like he is going to give me noseies, and the he licks my noes or cheek whichever he decideds is funniest at the time. Its very cute, and funny but he wants to do it all the time. If I wanted to be licked all the time, the dog would be in the house. So now its my turn. I am so going to teach him to give wet willies. Scott hates them. He cant stand it when you give him one. So watch out baby wet willies are coming your way!!!

Recap

I'm going to have to try and type this fast, seeing my little man is being very clingy this morning. He's watching DoodleBops so he'll sit down for a little while. As I say this, I hear the pitter patter of little feet walking down the hall. LOL. Now that he is sitting down, I will try this again. There really hasnt been too much going on. Thurs, I got out of school early. Came home and cleaned a little. Then we went to dinner at my in laws, like we do every Thurs. But this Thurs, all the boys got hair cuts. Even Tanner. His grandma cuts all their hair. I was suprised he let her cut his. Of course he didnt sit still, but it still looks good. He also ran after all the cats taht hang out in their back yard. I think she has like seven kittens back there and he loves to look at them. They were curisouse about him too but of course they didnt get too close. So we stayed there until like 8. Came home and watched UFC and I called a friend who just had a baby. He was 10 weeks early, but he seems fine. Friday, all we did was clean. And yell at punk ass teen agers who feel the need to track through outr front yard in packs. Scott asked them nicely once and one of them said "But its easier to go this way." Scott told him he didnt care, to walk around. We caught them 3 more times trying to be slick and walk through, so he told them if he caught them again, he w as calling the sheriffs department. We'll see how today goes. Last night we went over to Beck's mom and dad's for a get together for her brother. He is being shipped to Iraq soon so they got friends and family together. It was fun. Food was awesome.!!! I havent seen that much food in a long time!! Oh boy, I'm still full. Tanner had a good time. He got to play with dogs, and other kids, and a singing bass fish. (OH GAWD). Watching him play, I realized that he is kind of sheltered. I guess I dont realize it until I see him around other people. He gets so excited. He doesnt know how to react to people. Or animals for that reason. It kinda bummed me out. I dont want him to miss out on anything as a kid. I want him to know how to be social around other kids, and adults. I just hope right now doesnt have any long term affects on his social skills. Well I'm off for now. I have a paper due on Tues, and I have to type it out, and have it proof read so I can re type it again. If I get time I might be on again. Who knows I will probably need a break sometime today.

Yesterday

Well yesterday at like 330 we get a knock on our door. Its someone from the county. I was like oh god what did we do? But it turns out they wanted info on our neighbors. We were like Wow. We've tried calling people to come out here and everything. I'm trying not to give out a whole bunch on here, but lets say we were told to be prepared that alot of things would be going on in a couple days. We were giving a number to call if anything went on with the kids. I was like holy smokes. I told her we had problems with the kids walking through our yard in packs. Sometimes 10 at a time going over to the neighbors. Just as I had finished saying that a kid walked through our yard and the lady was like "Excuse me? Why did you just walk through this yard? Do you think that was very polite? Next walk on the side of the road to the drive way" It took all I had not to laugh, because this kid is like 15 and was like "um...um" she look like she had that deer in the headlight look. Its not a funny situation. But I guess that kind of lighted the mood. We answered her questions, and she asked why we never called DFAX and I told her because we have to live next door to them. And she was like thats why nothing ever happens. So she gave us a number directly to her. So we will see what happends in the next few days. Should be interesting. Happy Birthday Beck!!! Every one run to her site and wish her a happy birthday!! Hope you have a good one girl.!!

Blogging fool

Well looking back on this past weekend, I've decided I've have been a blogging fool. Lets face it I have posted more in the past 3 days than I have in the past 2 weeks. But I have to let you know that trend probably wont continue seeing school starts back tomorrow. I cant believe this is my 3rd week of school already. WOW. Time sure is flying. Before I know it. Finals will be here at the end of the month. Well I havent done much today. Talked to my sister. Watched almost the entire 2nd season of The Closer. I love that show. Too bad the new ones dont start until Dec. Tomorrow I have to wear a business suit to school. (every first Tues they want us to dress for success.) Depending on how I look maybe I will post a picture. MAYBE. Well I am off to read a chapter for class tomorrow, and then off to bed. Until later all.

Blogger Beta part 2

Well I guess switching to blogger beta has caused a few problems with comments it seems. So if you'd like to leave a comment, and cant do it the normal way. You can always use the other option, where you type your name and your link. OR you can use annonomous and sign your name at the end. I did write an email to blogger and they say they are trying to work on getting it so everyone can leave comments. But right now only beta users can leave comments...it sucks I know. But switching to beta has a lot of postivtives. Like no publishing time. Thats awesome. The option to pick and choose who reads your blog. Easier templates, if you use the blogger templates. I'm thinking about getting a chatterbox so everyone can comment if they want. ****Update: I went ahead and added a chatterbox at the bottom. So if for some reason you still cant leave a comment and want to, you can do it there.

Doggy

So 102 Dalmations came on tonight and let me tell you Tanner loved it. He would get all excited when one of the dogs barked and he would clap and go "Doggy, Doggy". Who would have thought listening to a little one say doggy for an hour and half would be so cute...

Just a quickie

Toot let me sleep until 1030, which means he slept that late. He then took a 2 hour nap. Talk about a lazy day. Which is okay since I got all the cleaning done yesterday. Its pouring down rain outside whikc makes it even easier to be lazy. (the weather man so lied. He said sunny skies for the weekend). But hey thats okay. Rain means its cooling off. I actually get to stay up and wait for Scott tonight since there is no school tomorrow. Woo Hoo!!! I took that picture last night while he was taking a bath. I of course had to edit it some so I could post it. I thought it was adorable. I said Tanner swim like a fish, and he laid down on his stomach and acted like he was swimming. Too friggin' cute.

9/11 tribute

I saw this on one of the websites I was lurking and thought I would participate. Growing up military and having many friends in the military the upcoming day brings fear and pride to my heart. But every year on the anniversary of 9/11 I am sad. So many people lost their lives. So many people lost loved ones. So I am doing my part. I am honoring not only their memory but their lives. Which is what this web site asked us to do. To focus on how they lived. So just in case you're curious, that's why I have this in my side bar. If anyone else is interested, check it out here.

My wonderful kid

I dont have the words to explain what an awesome kid, Tanner has been today. I swear. He has behaved. Played by himself most of the day. When he wanted something to drink, he brought me his cup, instead of the usual "uh-uh" I get. Same when he was hungry, he brought me a box of cereal. He decided when he was tired he laid on the floor and took a 2 hour nap. He has just been an awesome little man. He has even given me some snuggle time in his independant schedule. He's growing up so fast. I love each day he is getting smarter, and learning new stuff. But part of me wants him to be the 7lb baby I brought home from the hospital 2 years ago. And the closer his birthday gets the more I'm aware, that he's really not a baby any more. He's a little boy. My sweet, little boy.
